Back on the air in Zaragoza!

Sorry for the radio silence, but I've been managing some things, including showing my wife and father-in-law around.  We went back to Madrid for a night and had some time for the sights.
Got to see the street I used to live on....

Don Quijote and Sancho Panza statues- where the kids who did not go to the stadium went!

Cervantes- the writer of Don Quijote.

The three of us in Plaza de Espana- notice the big Starbucks cups that my family refused to do anything without.  Some battles can't be won!

The Cathedral next to the Royal Palace (Palacio Real) in Madrid.

A glimpse inside...

We wanted to visit, but they were prepping the palace for some royal business.

Street performer.. having a seat..?

Back to the stadium of Real Madrid.  We didn't get to see as much as tonight, is a HUGE game...

TV stations prepping for the big game!

Real Madrid is hosting FC Barcelona.  They just played as you recall, for the "Copa del Rey", which is the title of the best Spanish team.

Tonight, on your kids' last night with the family stay, is the semi finals of the Champions League, for the best European Football Club...  a much bigger honor.  32 teams play games from September on at each others' place and then an elimination tourney takes place.  We are now in the semis, where FC Barcelona plays Real Madrid at Real Madrid and next week, they play at Barcelona.  The team with the most goals advances to the finals versus winner of Manchester United (England) and Schalke (German).  MU won 2-0 last night.

Since Zaragoza is between the two cities, the fan base is pretty evenly split, so it will be quite the last night for the kids.... going away party and another battle between RM and FCB.  They have played 3 times.... FCB won the first time 5-0, the second time was a draw, and the 3rd time RM won 1-0.  They have 2 games left and there is a lot schmack talk going on in the news and on the street!
